(OS1)® Frequently Asked Questions Can (OS1) work in our organization? (OS1) isn't for everybody. It requires leadership and a desire to change your organization's habits. (OS1) is currently up and running in hundreds (possibly thousands) of buildings across the country. It works in all sizes of building service contractors from local operations to large companies. In-house facilities use it successfully from office buildings to arenas to the biggest building in the world. How long will it take to implement the (OS1) program into our cleaning organization? That depends on your commitment level and the size of your organization. (OS1) is not a quick fix or a "flavor of the month" program. Some organizations do it in months, and some do it in years. Typically, we encourage selecting a pilot team to implement the initial (OS1) start up. It's a lot of change to bring into a cleaning operation at one time and we encourage operations to implement the program at their own pace. How do we become (OS1) Green Certified? First and foremost you need be using the (OS1) process. Most operations using (OS1) submit to a third-party audit once per year and those scores are tabulated on a standardized process. If your score meets the ManageMen standard of 80% or better, your operation earns the (OS1) Green Certification. How to we get started with (OS1)? To get started with (OS1) you need to come to Janitor University® to learn about the program. Once you've come to JU you need to implement (OS1) and submit to a ManageMen audit. What is the difference between the (OS1) Cleaning Program and being (OS1) Green Certified? Being (OS1) Green Certified means your operation has met or exceeded the level ManageMen sets as the standard audit score for (OS1). The cleaning process what ManageMen certifies. An operation running (OS1) at the ManageMen standard, will be able to document and demonstrate source reduction, reduction of inventory, improved IAQ, reduced absenteeism, improved safety which meets and exceeds HAZCOM law and reduced chemical usage. What is the (OS1) Users Group? A group of (OS1) users formed in 2002 to benchmark best practices in cleaning operations. The (OS1) Users Group consists of organizations who are using, attempting to use or investigating (OS1), along with other special invited guests.
