Charles Hollis Joins ManageMen Team
ManageMen is pleased to announce that cleaning industry training legend Charles Hollis, formerly of Sandia National Labs div. Lockheed Martin, is joining ManageMen. Charles will be conducting (OS1) Boot Camps and leadership mentoring for the (OS1) universe. Charles' history with (OS1) coincides with Sandia's growth as one of the premier cleaning programs in the
country.
Hollis was the first (OS1) trainer at Sandia National Labs and was a major force as Sandia won three Best Cleaning Program Awards in five years and three consecutive Green Certified Program Awards. Additionally, the Sandia program won several "Best Awards" during Charles'
training career including Best (OS1) Audit (twice), the Pioneer Award and the Safety Award. Charles was the chief trainer in the Sandia cleaning organization during three successive leadership changes from Jim Kadlec to Jim Rush and from Jim Rush to Mike Carson.
In 2002 the Sandia National Labs cleaning program was awarded the New Mexico Green Zia Award and Charles participated in the presentation ceremonies and lunch with the Governor.
A highlight of Charles training career occurred at the 2007 Cleaning Industry Symposium Awards in Colonial Williamsburg when Sandia National Labs was recognized as the Best Cleaning Industry Training Program under Charles' management.
Charles' gentle approach and quiet disposition sometimes masked his focused, articulate, strong leadership. It was no small feat to be the trainer at Sandia National Labs who drove a custodial lost workday safety record from more than one per employee, per year to zero. This
occurred during the 24 month transition to the (OS1) program and again in 2007. An accomplishment that has never been repeated among (OS1) users.
Charles was also a pioneer in the (OS1) "Learn N Earn Certification Program" that was eventually adopted and renewed as part of the union contract by the Metal Trades and Aerospace Workers union of AFL-CIO.
Charles is a member of the Cleaning Industry Trainers Guild and in May recertified as an Expert Trainer for the third consecutive year. Charles will continue to act as mentor to many of the younger trainers and newer organizations just starting down the (OS1) path.
